From small beginnings to full bloom

Brambles and Botanicals began with a love of flowers and a simple idea to bring something lovely to everyday life in Sonning Common and the surrounding villages.

In 1997, Erica arrived as a newly qualified florist with a deeply creative eye and a real passion for her craft. What started at the family home soon grew, with her husband and five daughters helping out with deliveries, stock, and the occasional phone call. As word spread, so did the demand for thoughtful, beautiful flowers for every kind of moment. From quiet gestures to big celebrations, Brambles became part of the fabric of the local community, supplying homes, businesses, schools, and events, always with care and attention to detail.

As the business grew, so did its purpose. Today, that same spirit lives on in Brambles and Botanicals. Now based in a larger shop in the heart of the village, the team has space to showcase a wider range of fresh flowers, sustainable gifts, indoor plants, pots, and cards. The focus remains the same: helping people choose something meaningful, something local, and something that feels just right.

At the centre of it all is Erica, whose experience and instinct for colour, texture, and seasonal design shape everything the shop creates. She has a talent for turning ideas into arrangements that feel personal, whether it is a simple hand tied bouquet or a full floral scheme for a wedding or farewell. Highly organised and full of energy, she thrives when planning larger orders and events where every detail matters. Supporting them is a close-knit team that keeps everything moving. Kate and Beccy work behind the scenes, helping with the many details that make a small independent business run smoothly. And then there is Waffle, the four-legged welcome committee, always ready to greet visitors and add a little extra charm to the experience.
